Things I'd Get If I Felt I Could :V|
I feel that way about a lot of RTSs, but some of them grip me really well. Dawn of War clicked well enough with me to keep me interested through a lot of multiplayer battles, and once you really *know* an RTS it's a lot easier to stick with it.
After that, Relic basically made DoWII into exactly my favourite type of game (for the single-player, anyway.) No more base-building - you just prepare your units for a mission, and then carry out the mission with the units you took. Micromanagement is no longer a chore, because you have the time to devote to it, instead of having to jump halfway across the map to build the next part of your tech tree.
Previous games using this mechanic that I love include Warhammer: Dark Omen, XCOM, Starship Troopers: Terran Ascendancy and the Ground Control games. All a little different, all freakin' awesome.
