So, the dog people came around this afternoon with the puppy we were interested in (Ginger). And we had a nice time meeting them and her... and then they got out some fostering papers, told us we could foster her for a week and that if we still wanted to keep her at the end of that, we could sign the adoption papers, pay the fee and keep her. And then they left us with our beautiful new Basset/Mini Dachshund cross puppy!
She's very playful, and then tires out, sleeps, pees and plays again. The trick is to take her out as soon as she wakes up, because that's when she's going to pee. I've taken up the tiny bit of carpet we have, and we'll put it back down when longpig gets back from buying dog-pee-eating-enzyme spray.
Watch longpig's journal for adorable photos, once we've had a chance to puppy-proof the place (child gates, protecting wires etc.) and have a moment when we're not watching to make sure she isn't eating wires or peeing!
