Last day before work starts
Today's been pretty nice. My IBS has been worse, on and off, but it's been very manageable.

Last night I stayed up pretty late, watching Kill Bill part one, but wisely decided to turn it off and go to bed when I realised they were going to show part two right after it. I'll watch it another time.

I was pretty sleepy this morning, but I slept well and woke up pretty quickly. We had an easy, but healthy morning - we both did some floor exercises, got breakfast, and we hung out while our room was cleaned.

After that we headed back to Lionel-Groulx, near Atwater Market, to find Ariadne Knits, a yarn store that was recommended to Hazel. We bought OPUS cards on the way, so it should be easy for me to buy a weekly ticket tomorrow morning. We also found an honest-to-god store (it was, unfortunately, shut) called ORLY. When we got there, we met one of the owners of Ariadne, who was very nice, and got a bit of shopping done on the way back.

This afternoon we've had naps, been good with food, and watched a lot of medical reenactment shows. Reading it back, it sounds pretty dull, but to me it's been awesome.

We also saw a show about optimism by Michael J Fox, which I really enjoyed. It was an interesting program, even if I didn't really learn anything, but mostly it was just really good to see him on TV again. The guy was in a few of my favourite movies and shows when I was a kid, and it's good to know that his disease hasn't made him bitter or depressed - he's just treating it like "Oh well... what's next?", and followed in Lance Armstrong's footsteps to help support others with the same condition.

Wait, wait, you've never seen Kill Bill? How could this be? Had Hazel seen it?

Interesting Montreal factoid #292: Lionel Groulx was a fascist antisemite priest who thought that the Quebecois were God's chosen people. No, really! There have been efforts to rename the metro station after the famous jazz musician Oscar Peterson (who was born near that station).

Yeah, I mean, I assumed you must have. I suppose it probably didn't come to the crappy cinema in Aber though.

I think it might have come for like one night or something... Or maybe I saw it when I was visiting home? I know I saw it in theatres but I can't remember where.

I remember you seeing it with us, so it must have been when you were home visiting.

Hazel owns both movies, I think. I'd have watched part 2 yesterday, except our DVDs are in shipping. I'd seen part one before, but was moving out of a flat at the time so I didn't really watch it, and it was always on my rewatch list, but pretty low because I saw most of the action the first time around, and the non-action seemed like it wasn't really important (which turned out to be accurate, I think).

Re: Lionel Groulx - that's AWESOME.
