Upgrade Breakdown
This week:

Hyundai ImageQuest Q995 19'' Perfectly Flat CRT Monitor - £117.44
Microsoft Windows XP Professional x64 Edition - OEM - £96.29
Tagan TG480-U01 480W ATX2.0 SLi Compliant Silent PSU - £58.69

If anyone knows any places with better prices (or horrifying tales of badness about these products!), let me know. Unless you hate me, in which case, conceal the knowledge so that I spend more money!

I am aware that I intend to give microsoft my money. I need windows, and x86 is cheap at the moment, and will probably be beneficial eventually.

Over the next month:

Gigabyte 3D1 - Dual GeForce 6600 GT 256MB DDR3 & K8NXP-SLI nForce4 SLi Bundle (PCI-Express) - £317.19
Socket 939 AMD Athlon 64 processor - ~£100
Samsung SpinPoint P SP1614C 160GB SATA 8MB Cache - £64.57

After that:
New case

XP is wonderful... but for heaven's sake, pirate it!

I mean, I hate to advocate piracy, but... NO, REALLY! STEAL IT!

If you buy a computer new these days, what will it have? MS Windows Whatever, pre-installed pre-PAID-for (by you, in the end) without choice, without a refund if you flatten the disc, snap the CD and put on Linux.

Steal a copy of Windows, because they absolutely can afford it and they screw practically every new computer customer in the world into buying a copy.

This has been a ranty deathboy message.

I really should, but it's just so much effort nowadays...

Damn DirectX for making me rely on Windows so much!

Meh. I'm just apathetic 'cause of the star wars disappointment.
