funcan brought longpig's new desk to game last night, and rather than leave it sitting around for a week, I thought I'd put it together after she went to bed, in order to get the packaging taken away by the bin men this morning.
It's pretty nice, and it's a much better workspace than the small, uneven, wobbly table I found for her last time.
I am now convinced, however, that the success of Ikea is at least partially due to the LEGO factor - the manual reads like LEGO, and the thing went together so damned easily. I wanted to do another one afterwards! I never suspected that those weeks as a child spent constructing space stations and fantasy forts were, in fact, training for assembling furniture.
