I've just read this article on "ten games that are better than Halo 3". Good concept, right? Take the most popular game on the planet, and show people what else is out there. They even point out that they love Halo 3 - that's how good these other games are.

Except that only one of their ten games is actually on the shelves. How the hell can you claim to know how good a game is without having played it?

I'm certainly looking forward to Portal - it looks like great fun. But it's going to get boring pretty quickly - I give it about 5 hours. Haze looks ace, but like every game with a gameplay gimmick I haven't tried, I'd like to reserve my judgement for now.

I suppose with Portal it depends on if they're purely relying on puzzle elements or if it actually has anything else, like a decent plot or characters, to make you care.

I must admit you're right, it's weird for them to have a list with unreleased games. Their claims can only really be taken seriously if they've played preview or the like and no clue how likely that is to be true.

Out of those ten I think I'm most interested in Portal, Haze and Left 4 Dead - somehow hadn't heard about Haze out of those 3 either.

I gather there's very little plot to Portal - it's 100% puzzle game.

I'm also extremely interested in Mirror's Edge and Hydrophobia, but I wouldn't claim that they are "better than BioShock", for example.

Left 4 Dead does look fun :V

I have to agree, a list of that nature with unreleased games has zero credibility.

Speaking of Orange Box contents, I can't get enough Team Fortress 2.

I'm burned out on multiplayer shooters, I'm afraid. The next online game I'm looking forward to is Super Smash Brothers: Brawl!

COD4 yes! looks awesome
HL2: Ep2, hell yes!
TF2: looks like good fun
